Chat Top Bar

The top bar appears above the chat and shows the workspace or thread context, thread actions, and global controls. This guide covers all top bar options in detail.

Key features

  • Contextual title — Workspace name (on dashboard) or thread name (in a thread)
  • Thread name editing — Rename the thread inline
  • Thread actions — Edit name, clear history, email summary, share link
  • Credit status — Low or no credits warning (when applicable)
  • Notifications — Marketplace and system notifications
  • Marketplace — Open the AI agents and tools marketplace
  • User menu — Account, credits, administration, documentation, sign out

Left section: title and context

Workspace view

When you're on the workspace dashboard (no thread), the top bar shows the workspace name.

Thread view

When you're in a chat thread, the top bar shows:

  • Thread name — Truncated with ellipsis if long; full name on hover
  • Edit button (pencil icon) — Enter edit mode to rename the thread

Editing the thread name

  1. Click the pencil icon
  2. The name becomes an editable input
  3. Type the new name
  4. Save — Press Enter or click outside (blur)
  5. Cancel — Press Escape

Thread actions (desktop, in-thread only)

When you're in a thread on desktop, these buttons appear next to the name:

Edit name (pencil)

  1. Opens inline edit mode for the thread name

Clear thread (refresh icon)

  1. Clears all chat history in the current thread
  2. Asks for confirmation
  3. Irreversible — Messages cannot be recovered

Email summary (envelope)

  1. Opens a modal to generate and email a summary of the thread
  2. Requires an email address
  3. Uses pinned messages and thread content to build the summary

Share thread (share icon)

  1. Opens the share modal
  2. Create a shareable link for the thread
  3. Set visibility (e.g. workspace members, specific users)
  4. Copy the link to share with others

Responsive behavior

  1. Desktop (lg+): Full top bar with all controls
  2. Mobile/tablet: Top bar is hidden on small viewports (under 1024px) to maximize chat space; thread actions and some controls move to other contexts (e.g. thread menu, mobile header)

Troubleshooting

  1. Thread name not saving — Ensure you pressed Enter or blurred the field; check permissions
  2. Share/Email not available — Must be in a thread (threadSlug present); workspace must be loaded
  3. Notifications not updating — They refresh periodically; try closing and reopening the dropdown
  4. Marketplace button not visible — Check your role and workspace context
