Introduction to Workspace Settings

Workspace Settings is where you customize how a workspace behaves, looks, and who can access it. From one central page you can adjust the workspace identity, AI chat behavior, document search, and team membership—so each workspace can be tailored to its purpose.

Key features

  • Per-workspace configuration — Each workspace has its own settings, independent of others
  • Tabbed interface — Four tabs organize settings by purpose
  • Role-based access — Managers and admins can edit; the Members tab is restricted to admins and managers
  • Live updates — Changes take effect after you click Update workspace

How to access

From the Workspace Dashboard:

  1. Open a workspace.
  2. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the quick action bar.
  3. You land on the General Appearance tab.

From the sidebar:

  1. Hover over the workspace name and choose the settings option (gear icon).

Direct URL:

  1. General: /workspace/[slug]/settings/general-appearance
  2. Chat: /workspace/[slug]/settings/chat-settings
  3. Vector Database: /workspace/[slug]/settings/vector-database
  4. Members: /workspace/[slug]/settings/members

Saving changes

  1. General Appearance — Some sections (e.g., name, branding) show Update workspace when you make changes; click it to save.
  2. Suggested Messages — Use the Save button in that section.
  3. Chat Settings and Vector Database — A single Update workspace button appears when anything changes; it saves all modified settings.
  4. Members — Changes are saved from within the Manage Users modal.
